No. Full ceramic bearings are designed to run completely dry and are maintenance-free in normal use. Do not add oil or grease to the spool bearings — lubricant on ceramic bearings creates drag and will reduce casting performance rather than improve it.
The Ti Series uses a high-torque carbon drag system paired with titanium drag washers. Carbon fiber drag washers are among the smoothest and most consistent available, providing silky, zero-hesitation drag pressure from the moment tension is applied. The titanium washers in the stack resist thermal expansion, ensuring the drag stays smooth and does not seize up or become unpredictable during long, powerful runs.
The integration of high-speed ABEC7 ceramic bearings allows for higher RPMs during the cast. This, combined with the lightweight titanium components, reduces friction and startup inertia for longer, more accurate casts.
